GenSpace members were invited to participate and contributed to an insightful discussion about the importance of lived experience. As AI continues to change the face of most industries and dominate discussions, older adults are often left out of the conversation despite the fact that they can play a central role, as GenSpace Director Christopher Leech reminded the crowd.
“AI may generate answers, but only lived experience offers wisdom,” he said.
The panel was hosted in partnership with Drew University and featured Hilary Link, President of Drew University, Marc Freedman, Founder & Co-CEO of CoGenerate, Jonathan Stewart, Head of Engagement at 2HR Learning, Michelle Weise, Innovation Advisor at Drew University and best-selling author, and Constance Yowell, Executive Director of Northeastern University.
The conversation focused on the intersection of AI and life-long learning communities across generations, exploring how organizations and leaders can create more learning opportunities by leveraging the power of AI.
“This panel represents the kind of transformative discussions we are having at Drew as we consider the future of higher education—thinking innovatively, leaning into multigenerational learning opportunities, and embracing and planning for the changes AI can and will bring,” Dr. Link said. “We are thrilled to partner with a trailblazing organization like GenSpace that is at the forefront of this movement.”
Drew University is exploring these options in higher education, but there is great opportunity to pursue learning beyond the university setting.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to lifelong learning and ensuring that people of all ages can thrive in our ever-evolving communities,” Leech said. “GenSpace is committed to pushing the boundaries and creating new ways to engage across generations to help shift the narrative around aging.”
